How Does the Treatment Work?
Light energy targets the hair follicle
Light is absorbed by melanin, the natural pigment in the hair, and converted into heat that affects the follicle’s ability to produce new hair.
Because hairs are in different stages of their growth cycle, several treatment sessions are needed.
IPL or Laser – What Is the Difference?
Laser uses a single wavelength, while IPL uses a range of wavelengths. Both can provide lasting results, and the choice is tailored to your skin type and hair growth.
Anagen – growth phase
The hair grows actively and remains connected to its nutrient supply. Treatment is most effective during this phase.
Catagen – transition phase
The hair stops growing and begins to separate from its nutrient supply.
Telogen – resting phase
The hair rests and eventually sheds as a new hair begins to grow.
Before Your Treatment
- No waxing or plucking for 4–5 weeks beforehand.
- Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks.
- Shave the area the evening before or on the day of your appointment.
- Arrive with clean skin, free from creams, deodorant or other products.
- Tell us about medications, skincare, supplements and any skin concerns.
After Your Treatment
- Temporary redness and warmth may occur.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks and use SPF 30–50 on skin exposed to the sun.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, swimming pools and hot tubs for the first 24 hours, or longer if the skin remains irritated.
- Shaving between treatments is fine, but avoid waxing and plucking.

Hair removal with IPL and diode laser can be performed on several areas of the face and body. The number of treatments and the result can vary between areas, even for the same person.
BODY
Dark, coarse body hair often responds very well to treatment. The number of sessions depends on the area and individual hair growth.
FACE
Facial hair growth is often influenced by hormones and may require more treatments and sometimes maintenance.
Which Hairs Can Be Treated?
IPL and laser work best on dark, coarse hair. White, grey, very light-coloured and fine hair respond poorly or not at all to treatment.

What Happens After Each Treatment?
Less hair growth and increasingly longer periods of smooth skin
Following treatment, the treated hairs gradually shed, usually within 10–15 days (sometimes sooner on the face). This is followed by a pleasant period of smooth, hair-free skin in the treated areas.
On the body, a noticeable reduction in hair growth can often be seen after just one session. Some clients are satisfied after only a few treatments, for example on the lower legs. Results vary between individuals and treatment areas.
Treatment can also help reduce problems with ingrown hairs.
The Right Time for Your Next Treatment
Treatment intervals are adapted to your individual hair growth. As hair growth decreases, longer intervals may be needed. The next session is scheduled when sufficient new hair has appeared.
